摘要：The theory of shock waves is one of well-known difficult areas of nonlinear PDES. It has a long history since Riemann and yet is very young due to the fact there are too many basic issues to be investigated. It is still a field with many challenges in the near future. In this talk, I will survey the major progress achieved so far and discuss some of the challenges in the field.
