摘要:The asymptotics of scalar phase transition models in the limit of vanishing interface width have been widely studied over the past decades. We will discuss the analogous asymptotical limit of the isotropic-nematic interface problem in liquid crystals within the Landau-de Gennes Q-tensor framework. In particular, we will show how the anisotropic elastic coefficient affects the anchoring conditions of the molecular alignment on the interface.
