Abstract. In the talk, I am going to present the latest results on regularity of axisymmetric solutions to the Navier-Stokes equations. There will be short discussion about relationship between analysis of PDE’s like the Navier-Stokes equations and some physical phenomena such as turbulence, etc.

Bio. Prof. Seregin is a leading expert in partial differential equations and made quite a few significant progress on the analysis of Navier-Stokes system. He got Humboldt Research Award in 2002 and Sophja Kovalevskaya Prize of the Russian Academy of Sciences in 2003. He was an invited speaker of ICM in 2010.
